CenterPoint Energy's eRecruiting System automatically assigns a Username to unregistered Visitors. If you specified your e-mail address when applying for a position and you try to register with that same e-mail address, you will receive the “E-mail already reserved” error. CNP employees will receive this message as well, if they have logged on as an external visitor and used their CenterPoint Energy e-mail, and not via the Employee Log On.

Complete the following steps in order to retrieve your Username and password.

External Applicants:

  1. Select “Log In for Returning Visitors” from the Careers home page
  2. Select “Password Forgotten”
  3. Enter only your e-mail address and select “Submit Password”
  4. Your Username and a new password will be sent to your e-mail address
  5. Return to the Careers site and select “Log In for Returning Visitors”
  6. Log in using your usename and password; you will be prompted to change your password
  7. If you would like to change your Username, select “Change Username” once you have successfully logged in.


CNP Employees:

  1. Select “CNP Employee Log In” from the Careers home page
  2. Enter your SAP eight-digit User id and select “Password Forgotten”
  3. Enter your company e-mail address and click “Submit Password”
  4. Your Username and a new password will be sent to your company e-mail address.
